Edna P. Bolash

AGE: 82 ? Bedminster

Edna P. Bolash, 82, of the Pluckemin section of Bedminster Township died peacefully on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Far Hills on July 24, 1928, a daughter of the late Edgar and Loretta Vliet Prall. She had resided in Basking Ridge and Bernardsville before moving to Pluckemin 52 years ago. She was a graduate of Bernards High School in Bernardsville. Mrs. Bolash was a guidance office secretary at Bernards High School in Bernardsville for 34 years, retiring in January 1993. She previously worked at Morristown Trust Company and Bernardsville National Bank prior to the school position. Edna was an avid gardener and enjoyed cooking, knitting, crocheting, painting and getting together with friends and family. She cherished the relationships formed with her co-workers, whom she considered as part of her family. Mrs. Bolash was a communicant of St. Elizabeth's Church, Far Hills.

She was predeceased by a son, Vincent E. Bolash, who died in March 2007 and by a brother, Frank Prall, who died in 1995. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Edna is survived by her husband of 62 years, Vincent C. Bolash; a son, Jeffrey Bolash of Bernardsville; a daughter, Lorna Lohmann of Colorado Springs, CO; four grandchildren, Noel MacFadyen, Jeffrey M. Bolash, Benjamin Lohmann and Nathaniel Lohmann; and a great granddaughter, Lillian MacFadyen.

Funeral gathering at the Layton Funeral Home, 475 Main Street, Bedminster on Saturday, March 5 at 9:30am followed by a mass at St. Elizabeth's Church, Far Hills at 10:00am. Interment will take place at Somerset Hills Memorial Park, Basking Ridge. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, 2-4 and 7-9pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Far Hills Bedminster Fire Department, P.O. Box 431, Far Hills, NJ 07931.
