AGE: 78 LAKEWOOD
Elise C. Christen, 78, of Leisure Village, Lakewood, passed away Monday, Jan. 3, 2011, at home. She was born in North Bergen and lived in Union City before moving to Lakewood in 1992. She retired from N.J. Bell Telephone, Jersey City in 1992, after many years of service as a telephone operator. She then worked at the gift shop in the Monmouth Rest Area of the Garden State Parkway, until 2005. She was a very loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Elise was predeceased by her parents, Hans and Emma (Daeschler) Christen. She is survived by her daughters, Nora (Lazzarini) Barry and her husband Kevin of Brick, and Karen (Lazzarini) Noe of River Vale. In addition, she is survived by her five grandchildren, Jenna Apgar and her husband Dan of Brick, Matthew Barry of Arlington, Va., Chris Noe and his wife Jamie of Allendale, Jessica Noe and her partner, Steve Mougis of NYC, and Tim Noe, of River Vale. She was also the proud great-grandmother of Alex. She will also be missed by her beloved cats, Puff and Socks.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 7 at O'Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m Saturday, Jan. 8 at St. Martha's Church, Point Pleasant. Those attending Mass shall kindly meet at the church. Cremation will be private.
