EMMA M. HALL
AGE: 92 HOLIDAY CITY
Emma M. (Struhs) Hall, 92, of Holiday City West passed away Friday, May 1, 2009, at her home with her family by her side. Born in Manhattan, NY, she lived in the Bronx from 1934-1952, then lived in Bergenfield, NJ, for 45 years prior to moving to Holiday City West 10 years ago. She was a superb homemaker and also worked for Prentice-Hall Publishing Company for 25 years. Emma was an active member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church Toms River. She also sponsored children from all over the world through World Vision. Emma loved her family and friends dearly and will be greatly missed by all.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 67 years, Raymond, in 2002; her son-in-law, LTC. Alfred Horlitz; three brothers, Charles, William, Herman; and her sister, Dorothy. Emma is survived by her daughter, Patricia and her husband Carl Nuermberger; grandchildren, Alfred Horlitz, Lisa Cowley and her husband Victor, Laura Horlitz and her husband Greg, Karen Hall, Krista Horlitz and her husband Scott, Donna Phofolos and her husband Bill, Carl Nuermberger and his wife Beverly, Susan Conolly and her husband Neal, Michael Nuermberger and his wife Terry; great-grandchildren, Daniel, Kailene, Emily, Samantha, Prescott, Costas, Demetrius, Megan, Max, Christopher, Zachary and Eliza; great great-grandson, Everett; sisters-in-law, Dorothy and Eileen; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Monday May 4, 2009, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St. Catherine Blvd., Toms River, NJ 08757. A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home Tuesday, May 5 at 10 a.m. Burial will follow to Mt. Hope Cemetery Westchester, NY. My precious grandmother loved God and loved others. She gave of herself tirelessly, generously, enthusiastically and graciously. I know that my Redeemer lives and she is basking in the joy of His Face! Thank you, God, for giving us an earthly angel for over 90 years! We love you Nany!
