"EZ", "Easy", "Ernie", "Ern": Passed away with his children and his companion at his side on March 10th. Ernest was born in Montclair, NJ in 1938 to Ernest Sr and Florence Zobian. He lived in Califon, NJ, Peapack, NJ, Bay Head, NJ and most recent a Ocean Grove, NJ resident for 20 years.

A writer, publisher and a brilliant mind. His passions were advocating for the environment, baseball, bike rides, the beach and reading the NY Times. A man about town known for his ever changing array of hats. Ernie was a true free spirit who loved his family.

Ernest was a beloved Dad and grandfather to his daughter Alyssa Zobian-Taylor (Boston, MA), son Eric Zobian his wife Cindy and their children Emily and Nicholas (Califon, NJ). Step Dad to Adam Janoff (Wayland, MA) and Josh Janoff (Mahwah, NJ). He will be truly missed by his loving and devoted companion Carol Mennie , his two dear sisters, Lisa Z. Lindahl (Charleston, SC), Victoria Z. Woodrow (Half Moon Bay, CA) his caring brother Mark Zobian (Lakewood, NJ), his many nieces and nephew and his long standing best friend University of Virginia roommate Harry Marshall (Chevy Chase, MD).

The loss of his extraordinary presence will be deeply felt by all. A private family service was held in his memory. Please remember Ernest by sending a donation to your charity of choice in his name.

Think of you big brother...your lopsided smile, passionate curiosity, and appreciation of natural beauty. Hope the lessons were apt & next time around is a bit ... Easy-er.

EZ was a close friend of Jay and Janessa since 1980. (Janessa died in Feb. of 2014) the three of us spent many days together on the Shore at Bayhead, Ocean Grove and in NYC. Ez visited us in Hudson several times. He was full of energy, extraordinary stamina, good cheer, marvelous humor, information and wonderful life stories. He will be missed by many.

There is a disturbance in The Force ... EZ has left our plane of existence. I take some comfort knowing he is causing debates and shenanigans elsewhere ...The Little Sister

I will never look at a feather without a memory of our Ernie. How I miss him ..... andhis wonderful stories. I feel lost, just knowing that he will never be knocking on my window again to visit my naked cat....Ocean Grove will never be the same Hope he gets lots of brownies with extra icing to keep his smile alive. How he loved life and helped to make each moment a happy one.

Dad your love of baseball carries on.... Miss you!

There are no words...I miss him more than I can say. He was by my side always. There are too many memories for me to write about here. He was quirky, fun, intelligent, full of life. He was a dear friend and I loved him. Rest in peace my Ernie.

I've lived a life that's full
I've traveled each and every highway
but more, much more than this
I did it my way
(My Way, Frank Sinatra)

Well done Ernie...Love, Carolina
