Etta Virginia Reed

AGE: 95 • Scotch Plains

Etta Virginia Reed went peacefully to rest with the Lord on Sat., Nov. 24, 2012 at her home after a long illness. She was born April 24, 1917 in Washington, PA where she attended school. In 1943 she was joined in holy matrimony to Benjamin Reed, Sr. and moved to Scotch Plains. She worked with various retailers in Administration and as an Expeditor for construction firms until she retired. Etta was a former member of St. John's Baptist Church in Scotch Plains.

She was predeceased by her parents Marcellous and Marie Armstead, her husband Benjamin Reed, Sr., a son Benjamin Reed, Jr., a daughter Rosetta Rembert and a brother Melvin. To cherish her memory, Etta is survived by 4 sons, Marcellous, Richard, Dennis (Jasmin) and Carl Reed (Carolyn); 15 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral Fri. 11am in St. John's Baptist Church, 2387 Morse Ave., Scotch Plains, preceded by viewing at 10am. Interment, Hillside Cemetery. Scotch Plains. Arrangements by Brown's Funeral Home, Plainfield. www.brownsfuneralhome.net.
