Francis Meeks Obituary
AGE: 95 • Plainfield
Francis M. Meeks, III, 95, passed away on Monday (October 1, 2012) at JFK Medical Center in Edison. He was a lifelong resident of Plainfield. Mr. Meeks was a graduate of Plainfield High School, and later went on to serve with the US Army during World War II, earning the Bronze Star. He founded Continental Motors in Plainfield in 1956, and worked there until 1980. He served with the Plainfield City Council for over 15 years, and ran for Mayor of Plainfield.
Mr. Meeks is survived by his wife, Anita Meeks of Plainfield; his children, Nancy Mousel of McCook, NE and Francis M. Meeks IV and wife, Judie, of Greensboro, GA; his four grandchildren; six great-granddaughters and one great-grandson.
The funeral will be from Memorial Funeral Home, 155 South Ave., Fanwood on Wednesday at 9AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 10AM at St. Bernard and St. Stanislaus RC Church, George St., Plainfield. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
