Frank Boccippio Obituary

Frank W. Boccippio, Sr.

AGE: 91 • Edison

Frank W. Boccippio Sr., 91, of Edison, passed away Thursday March 24, 2011 at his home. Mr. Boccippio was born in Ensley, Alabama and had resided in Perth Amboy before moving to Edison fifty-seven years ago. In 1939 Frank joined the Civil Conservation Corps from which he was honorably discharged in 1940. He then went on to enlist in the US Army and was a veteran of WWII, serving in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater. Mr. Boccippio was a barber by trade and owned and operated Frankie's Barber Shop in Fords for almost fifty years before his retirement in 2007. He was a parishioner of the Our Lady of Peace RC Church in Fords. He was also a member and Past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Don Bosco Council 5809 in Port Reading.

He was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Maria (Marziano) Boccippio, three sisters Rose, Mary and Josephine and one brother Angelo. Surviving are his beloved wife of sixty-three years Florence (Sucheski) Boccippio, his daughter Bernadette Riordan and her husband James of Edison, his son Frank W. Boccippio Jr. and his wife Sally of Colts Neck, his brother Thomas Boccippio of Hopelawn, three grandchildren Dennis and Daniel Boccippio and Stephanie Riordan and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday 10 am at the Mitruska Funeral Home 531 New Brunswick Ave., Fords. Followed by a 10:30 am mass in the Our Lady of Peace RC Church also in Fords. Entombment will follow in the Woodbridge Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Woodbridge. Visitation hours will be held Sunday from 4 pm - 8 pm. Memorial donations may be made to the North Shore Animal League.

My Uncle Frank. Many of us in this family have, or have had an Uncle Frank (or even two)--but this is my one and only Uncle Frank-who always made me laugh and smile. I am lucky to have had him in my life. Rest In Peace Uncle.
