George Arway Obituary

George J. Arway Jr.

AGE: 63 Sewaren

George J. Arway Jr., 63, of Sewaren, passed away Sunday, Feb. 13, 2011, at the Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy. Born in Perth Amboy, he was a lifelong resident of Sewaren. George was employed as a chemical operator with IFF in Hazlet for many years. He was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, Port Reading, the Carteret Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2314, an avid hunter, trapper, fisherman, was also a member of the Sewaren Tide Watchers Club and was aslo a Vietnam Navy veteran.

George is predeceased by his parents, George and Mary Arway. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Rosemarie (Teleposky) Arway; two sons, Andrew Arway of South Amboy, and George Arway III and his wife Vivian of Elizabeth; a brother, Michael Arway and his wife Karin of Sewaren; two grandchildren, Brooke Arway and George Arway IV; his aunt, Anna Drotar; nieces and nephews, Christine Arway, Michael Arway Jr., Andrea Teleposky, Nichole Lewinski, and Skyler Lewinski; and his dog, Buddy.

Funeral service will be Thursday at 9:00am from the Chubenko Funeral Home, 625 Port Reading Ave., followed by a 9:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial from St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church, Port Reading, with entombment to follow at Woodbridge Memorial Gardens, Woodbridge. Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
