GEORGE JAMES COLUCCI
AGE: 98 GLEN GARDNER
George James Colucci, 98, died Saturday, Oct. 9, 2010 at his home in Glen Gardner. He was born and raised in Plainfield, living in North Plainfield for 40 years before moving to Glen Gardner in 1975. George retired as Postmaster after 47 years of service with the Plainfield Post Office. As a younger man, George was an avid Boxer, was involved with the Boy Scouts, loved golf and Civil War History well into his nineties.
He was predeceased by his brother, Michael Colucci. Surviving is his wife, Edith Perrucci Colucci; a son, George B. and wife Grace Colucci, formerly of North Plainfield, and now residing in Susquehanna, Pa.; a daughter, Patricia and husband Sam Cornish of Long Hill Twp.; Edith's children, Phillip Del Soldato and Gail Saylors. Also surviving are George's grandchildren, Scott and Genevieve Cornish, Russel and George Colucci, Jr., Linda Madalone, Stephanie and Jennifer Del Soldato; eight great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren.
There will be no visitation. A Memorial Service will take place at a later dater. Arrangements are by the Scarpa Funeral Home of North Plainfield.
