George Logan Obituary

George E. Logan, Jr.

AGE: 87 • North Brunswick

George E. Logan, Jr. died Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at St. Peter's University Hospital in New Brunswick. He was 87.

Born in New Brunswick, he lived in Highland Park and Monmouth Junction before moving to North Brunswick 67 years ago. He started George Logan Towing, Inc. along Route 130 in North Brunswick in 1950 with a wooden box of tools and one wrecker with a hand crank winch. Today George Logan Towing is a well known member of emergency services throughout the State of New Jersey.

Mr. Logan was a volunteer fireman with North Brunswick Fire Company #2 for several years in the 1950's He had numerous life memberships in area volunteer fire companies and first aid squads and is an honorary fire chief to many departments throughout Middlesex County. He was a true friend and always present help to many local police departments and the New Jersey State Police. He is a PBA Silver Life Card Member.

He was predeceased by his parents George and Marie (Groben) Logan, Sr.; and his sister Gloria Warger. Surviving are his wife of 67 years Rosemarie (Billings) Logan; three sons who have followed their father into the family business - George E. Logan, III and his wife Rosanna, Ronald F. Logan, Sr. and his wife Beth, and Richard Logan, Sr. and his wife Kelley, all of North Brunswick; twin daughters - Lori Logan of East Brunswick and Lynn Kelly of Monroe Township; his sister Marie Schaeffer of Tinton Falls; his brother Lawrence D. Logan of Dayton; eleven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Our Lady of Peace R.C. Church, 1740 US Route 130 North in North Brunswick. A Funeral Mass will be 10:30 AM Wednesday at the church. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery in New Brunswick. Arrangements are under the direction of Selover Funeral Home, North Brunswick.

Mrs. Logan, George, Richie and Ronnie. I am saddened to hear about your DAD. He always went out of his way to make you feel welcome,whether it was an investigation, or just stopping by the shop.
