George Rickerhauser Obituary
AGE: 86 • Iselin
George J. Rickerhauser, Sr., died Sunday January 11th at JFK Medical Center, Edison. Mr. Rickerhauser was born in Newark New Jersey and resided in Iselin for 58 years.
Mr. Rickerhauser proudly served his country in the Army during the Korean War as a Sergeant. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 3639 of Iselin as a 4th degree Knight and presently served as the council financial secretary. He was one of the first Eucharistic ministers of St. Cecelia RC Church, Iselin and also an Usher for the Church. George was past president of the St. Cecelia Holy Name Society.
He was a graduate from St. Peters High School, New Brunswick and Seton Hall University with a BA degree.
George was an avid golfer and enjoyed bowling, watching the Yankees and the Giants, most importantly spending time with his family.
George was employed as an Assistant Vice President for PNC Bank formally Midlantic National Bank in Bloomfield until his retirement.
George was predeceased by his parents George C and Elizabeth Rickerhauser and his sister Elizabeth Herzog. Surviving is his wife of 63 years Maryann Volk Rickerhauser, his children Maryann Ross (Robert), Dr. Maureen Rickerhauser-Krall (John), Kathleen Koss (Mitchell), George Rickerhauser, Jr, (Grace), Eileen Trombetta (Patrick) and Margaret Wohl (Ovis), 17 cherished grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and his sister Annmarie Sacco.
Visitation Thursday January 15th from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm at the Gosselin Funeral Home 660 New Dover Road Edison. Funeral Mass Friday 10 am at St Cecelia RC Church, Iselin. Interment Brig. General William C Doyle Vet. Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ
