Grete M. Hackler

AGE: 91 • Flemington

Grete M. Hackler, 91, of Flemington passed away peacefully in her home on Friday, December 7, 2012. Born in Varde, Denmark, Grete immigrated to the U.S. in 1954, settling in the New Brunswick area. She resided in Franklin Township and North Brunswick for over 50 years before recently moving to Flemington.

She is predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Otto, who died in 2008. She is survived by her brother, Viggo Moller of Albuquerque, NM; a son, Frank J. Hackler of Piscataway, NJ; her grandchildren, Sgt. Benjamin Hackler, U.S. Army of Fort Drum, NY; Samantha Pennington of North Brunswick, NJ; Alexandra Hackler of Columbia, SC and Kimberly Hackler of Springfield, Mo; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Grete enjoyed sewing, especially needlepoint, knitting and crocheting, and being challenged by her daily crossword puzzles. Grete will be remembered for her infectious smile, a generous heart and enduring love for her four grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at The Crabiel Funeral Home, 170 North Main Street-at Riva Avenue, Milltown, NJ on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 from 10 a.m. until 12 noon. Following a brief service, internment will be at the Franklin Memorial Park in North Brunswick, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Hunterdon HealthCare Hospice, 2100 Wescott Drive, Flemington, NJ 08822. You may sign the "obituary" email "guestbook" at www.crabiel.com
