HAROLD COX
AGE: 69 COLONIA
Harold Lee Cox of the Colonia section of Woodbridge passed away Saturday, Sept. 20, 2008, at J.F.K. Medical Center in Edison. He was 69.
Born in Kinston, N.C., he lived in Westfield and Hillside before moving to Colonia in 1964.
Mr. Cox worked as a service technician for Sears in Union and North Plainfield for 36 years before retiring in 2000. He was an Army veteran, serving in Germany in the early 1960s. He was a member of Woodbridge Y.M.C.A. Community Center. He was an avid fisherman who loved the outdoors.
He was predeceased by his parents, John and Carrie Cox, and his sister, Peggy Edwards.
Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Janet (Mitchell); two daughters and sons-in-law, Lorie and James Esposito of Colonia and Tammy and Timothy Sprouse, also of Colonia; his brother, John "J.W." Cox of Midland, N.C.; his sister, Kathy Edmundson of Seven Springs, N.C., and five grandchildren, Sherie Esposito, Jimmy Esposito Jr., Amanda Sprouse, Robert Esposito and Kimberly Sprouse.
A Blessing will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Gosselin Funeral Home, 660 New Dover Road, Edison. Committal service will follow at Rosehill Crematory, Linden. Visitation is from 2 p.m.-4 p.m. and 7 p.m.-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to American Heart Association, New Jersey Affiliate Memorials Program, 2550 Route 1, North Brunswick, NJ 08902-4301, or to Cancer Association of America, 615 Chestnut St., 17th Floor, Philadelphia, Pa. 19106.
