Funeral services for Mr. Huron Paul Michel will be held on Sunday, July 17,2016 in the St. Mary's Assumption Catholic Church in Cottonport beginning at 2PM. with Father Walter Ajaero officiating. Visitation will in the church on Sunday beginning at 12:00PM. until the beginning of the service. Burial will follow immediately in the church cemetery #2.

Mr. Michel, 79, a resident of Cottonport passed away on July 15,2016 in the Riviere de Soleil Nursing Facility in Mansura. He retired from Louisiana DOTD with over 33 years of service. He enjoyed farming and woodworking following his retirement.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Dez (St. Romain) Michel.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife, Gertie Caldwell Michel, daughters, Kathy Lacombe(Michael), Sharon Chenevert (John) , and Pamela Crawford (Randall), all of Cottonport; son, Ricky Michel (Vicki) of Cottonport, Grandchildren, Mike Lacombe, Amanda Guillory,both of Lafayette, Claire Lacombe, Carlee Michel, Jordan Woitas, Trevor Woitas, Macie Woitas all of Cottonport, Ben Michel and Logan Michel both of Baton Rouge, Justin Chenevert of Pineville, and eleven great-grandchildren..

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Michael Lacombe, Jr., Justin Chenevert, Ben Michel, Jordan Woitas, Trevor Woitas and Logan Michel; honorary pallbearer will be Gerald Riche'.

In lieu of flowers, family request to have masses said on behalf of Mr. Michel and his family.

Escude Funeral Home of Cottonport is in charge of arrangements.
