James Deck Obituary
James M. Deck Jr. Transitioned this life 3/16/2016 in Lebanon, Pa. Born in Brooklyn, Ny he has been a resident of Newark 36 yrs. formerly of Plainfield. He was a corrections officer for Essex county 25 yrs. Mr Deck was a veteran of the US Army serving during Vietnam War. He enjoyed reading newspapers and baseball.
Predeceased by his daughter Jakeela, father James Sr., brother George, he is survived by wife Florence, sons James III, Jachin(Latoya), Jaron, Jarell, Jalen Deck, daughters Janessta Creech, Jalonda, Jathina Deck, mother Athan Anderson, 12 grandchildren, 2 gr, grand children ,brothers Calvin(Michelle) & Jerry Deck, TiJohn Martise, sisters Debbie Deck an=& Toni mortise.
Funeral services will be Thursday 11AM at the Mt. Olive Baptist Church 217 Liberty St., Plainfield, Visitation will be Thursday 10-11AM at the church. arrangements by Judkins. www.judkinscoloniailhome.com Please call with questions 908-756-4429

God bless the family of Jame (jimmy) Deck. I remember when they first came to town from Brooklyn and how we use to play ball and watch the Ed Sullivan show to see Michael Jackson and Jackson five and then we all would be dancing together. I haven't seen Jimmy in years but I do remember our childhood together on West Fifth Street, Plainfield, NJ.
