JAMES R. ROBBA
AGE: 81 EAST BRUNSWICK
James R. Robba, 81, of East Brunswick, died Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in New Brunswick, he resided in Edison before moving to East Brunswick 46 years ago. Prior to retiring in 1989, he was a maintenance supervisor for Bristol-Myers Squibb, New Brunswick, where he worked for 40 years. He was a Navy veteran of WWII, serving as a machinist on the USS Vulcan. Mr. Robba served as President of the New Jersey State Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation and was an avid sportsman, hunter and fisherman. He was a Communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle RC Church, Old Bridge.
He was predeceased by his parents, John and Carmela Robba and a sister Dorothy Marcols. Surviving are his loving and caring wife of 58 years, Ida Sewell-Robba; 3 daughters, Dolores Ordille and her husband Robert of Monroe Twp., Patricia Nugent and her husband Don of Lawrenceville and Barbara Dipierro and her husband William, Jr. of Monroe Twp.; 2 sons, Steven Robba and Boaz of South Plainfield and Michael Robba of Hackettstown; 4 grandchildren, Kim Schafer and her husband Jason, Bill Dipierro, Melinda Styles and her husband Jason and Bridget Dipierro; 5 great-grandchildren, Noah, Ari, Angelina, Sophia and Eden; 2 sisters, Clara Pronio of E. Brunswick and Ann Seminaro of South Amboy and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 8:00 a.m. in The Brunswick Memorial Home, 454 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick, followed by an 8:45 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Old Bridge. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. For directions please visit www.brunswickmemorialhome.com.
