South Brunswick - Jeanne M. Gilroy, 88, of South Brunswick, NJ was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, sister and friend. She left this world on February 23, 2021 surrounded by her family.

Jeanne was born to Elizabeth and John Tobin, on August 10, 1932 in her hometown of Wilkes-Barre, PA. She was raised helping her family operate the Tobin Florist shop across the street from St. Mary's Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest. After marriage, she moved to New Jersey with her husband, where she raised her 5 children.

Jeanne retired from PSE&G Electric Division in Somerset, where she proudly served for many years as the shop steward of her union (OPEIU). Jeanne was also very active after retirement in the Princeton Singles Social Group where she served as the newsletter editor, and most recently as president. She so enjoyed organizing and participating in their social events and activities with her friends and traveling as much as possible, to all the 50 states and beyond.

Throughout Jeanne's life her greatest joy was her children and extended family. She is survived by her daughters, Margaret Smith (Erial, NJ), Kathleen Gilroy (Swarthmore, PA) and Eileen Malvagna (South Brunswick, NJ) and her son Edward Gilroy (Linden, NJ), as well as her 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Jeanne was predeceased by her daughter Lizabeth Gilroy.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Cecilia's RC Church at 11:00AM on Saturday, February 27th. All are welcome to pay your respects at the M.J. Murphy Funeral Home in Monmouth Junction NJ from 9:30AM-10:30AM prior to the funeral mass. Her final interment, with a short ceremony will take place on Monday March 1st at 1:00PM in Wilkes-Barre, PA at St. Mary RC Cemetery.
