JERRY P. MARIANO
AGE: 84
BORN IN NEW BRUNSWICK
Jerry P. Mariano, 84, of Avon Park, Florida, died in his home on Saturday, June 27. He was born in New Brunswick, NJ in December of 1924 to Giuseppe and Vincenza Mariano; one of seven siblings. Jerry was a Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps., serving in World War II at the battles of Saipan, Tinian and Iwo Jima. In March of 1945 he opened a print shop with his brother, Dominick. He retired and moved to Florida to play golf. He was an avid golfer playing five days a week.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Florence (Coffaro), his daughter Teresa Mariano of Avon Park, FL, and his sons Joseph Mariano of North Brunswick and Jerry Mariano and his wife Rebecca Herbert-Mariano of Kendall Park, and six grandchildren: Jeremy and April Mariano of North Brunswick, Phillip and Brian Mariano and Connor and Maarken Herbert of Kendall Park.
Services will be Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 595 East Main Street, Avon Park FL 33825. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in his name may be made to Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 595 East Main Street, Avon Park FL 33825 or by sending a tax-deductible check to Good Shepherd Hospice , 105 Arneson Road, Auburndale, FL 33823.
