AGE: 82 • Forked River

Joan P. Faerber, of Forked River, died Wednesday January 14, 2015. Joan was born in Jersey City, a graduate of William L. Dickenson High School, she briefly attended NYU. Married to John Moore, they had two children, Patricia and Michael. Widowed at 32, she was employed at Colonial Life Insurance Company until 1967, when she moved to Spring Lake Heights, New Jersey. Employed as an Executive Secretary to the Administrator at Community Memorial Hospital, she was given diverse responsibilities, including risk management, and worked until 1994. Remarried to Alan Faerber, they operated a small restaurant, Terry's Country Kitchen in Forked River.

Joan enjoyed painting, reading, and beautiful gardens. She loved to share her thoughts about current events, and to look for the story behind the story. She liked to laugh, and treasured her eight grandchildren and great granddaughter.

Predeceased by her husband Alan and her son Mike Moore, she is survived by daughter Patricia and husband Mike Greer, stepdaughter Alyson and husband Tom Szumloz, grandchildren Timothy Langan, Patrick and Sarah Langan, John Langan, Alan and Matthew Faerber, Zachary, Hannah, and Abbey Szumloz, and great granddaughter Avery Langan, born on her birthday, who will all miss her.

Visitation will be Monday 6-9 pm at the Layton's Home For Funerals, Forked River, Relatives and friends may arrive Tuesday at 9 am at the funeral home for a 10 am funeral service. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, NJ. In lieu of flowers donations to Pop Corn Park Zoo or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital would be appreciated. So sorry to learn of your Mother's death.
Mary and I have been praying for you all since I received your e-mail concerning your mother's condition. I have ask the entire Woodland West Church of Christ to pray for all of you. You all have had tooo much grief in the last few years. Mary and I both wish we could physical there tomorrow. We will be especially praying for comfort and care only God can give you all tomorrow.
