Joan C. McGowan

AGE: 81 • Monroe

Joan C. McGowan, age 81, of Monroe Twp., NJ passed away Friday, November 8, 2013. Joan was born July 27, 1932 in Port Chester, NY and was the daughter of the late Frederick James and the late Alice Josephine (Reilling) Fischer. She has been living in Monroe Twp. for over 22 years and lived previously in Sayreville, NJ. Mrs. McGowan was a Bookkeeper for CNA Insurance in Monroe Twp., NJ. She was a member of the Rossmoore Emerald Society and the Rossmorre Solos in Monroe Twp., NJ. Most important, she was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother who especially enjoyed spending time her grandchildren.

She is survived by three sons: Timothy McGowan and his wife Joyce of Pittstown, NJ, Patrick McGowan and his wife Denise of Glen Gardner, NJ, Harry McGowan and his Wife Patricia of Clive, IA ; her daughter-in-law, Ellen McGowan of Bethlehem Twp., NJ; her thirteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Harry X. McGowan, and son, Michael P. McGowan.

There will be a Funeral Mass held at 11:30am on Tuesday, November 12 at St. Joseph's RC Church, 59 Main Street, High Bridge, NJ. Interment will be private. Memorial donations may be made to Hunterdon Hospice, 2100 Wescott Drive, Flemington, NJ 08822. For online condolences or for more information, please visit www.martinfh.com
