Joan M. Prochko, 84 passed away peacefully on Friday, June 16, 2017 at Bridgeway Care Center in Bridgewater, NJ. She was born in Hazleton, Pennsylvania the daughter of the late John and Helen Morris. She was a resident of Bound Brook NJ since 1957 and was a resident of Bridgewater, NJ for the past 6 years. Mrs. Prochko worked as a Nurse's Aide for the Bound Brook Board of Education for 25 years before retiring in 1993. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her family. Mrs. Prochko was also an avid gardener. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Mrs. Prochko was a member of St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church in Hillsborough, NJ. She is predeceased by her sister Sue Ellen Alessio. She is survived by her husband of 64 years Joseph R. Prochko and by her two sons Russell J. Prochko and his wife Thana of Grand Forks, North Dakota and Gary J. Prochko and his wife Gayle of Martinsville, New Jersey. She is also survived by her grandchildren Alexis Prochko, Matthew Prochko, Ryan Prochko and his fiancée Virginia Alvez-Chang and Laura Prochko. The viewing will be on Tuesday June 20, 2017 from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM at the Ketusky Funeral Home, 1310 Brooks Blvd, Manville, NJ. The Panachida Service will take place at 10:00 AM at the Funeral Home and will be followed by a 10:30 AM Divine Liturgy at St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church in Hillsborough, NJ. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Drums, Pennsylvania.
