John C. Chilinski

AGE: 94 • Fords

John C. Chilinski, 94, of Fords, passed away on Thursday, December 24, 2015, at the Venetian Care and Rehabilitation Center, South Amboy, NJ. Born in Perth Amboy, he resided in Fords for the past 65 years. He was a Plant Foreman with Cresent Chemical in Perth Amboy for 36 years prior to his retirement in 1984. He was a veteran of the US Maritime Services Merchant Marine, a member of the Knights of Columbus Council of Edison and a communicant of Our Lady of Peace Church, Fords, where he served as an usher for many years and was a member of the Holy Name Society.

John is survived by his wife of 68 years, Catherine Dudik Chiliniski; his son, Philip J. Chilinski and wife, Maureen, of Cranford; his daughter, Susan M. Brennan and husband, Harry, of South Amboy; five grandchildren: Shannon, Danielle, Michelle, Matthew and Michael; and six great-grandchildren: Shane, Ryan, Brayden, Molly, Erin and Dean.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, December 30, 2015, at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Avenue, Fords, followed by a 10:30 mass at Our Lady of Peace RC Church. Interment will be in St. Gertrude Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 29 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
