JOHN "JACK" CURTIS
AGE: 66 FORMERLY OF PARLIN
Jack Curtis, 66, of Stuart, FL, formerly of Parlin, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at Martin Memorial Hospital in Stuart, FL. Jack was born in New York City on October 17, 1943. He grew up in Parlin, NJ and lived most of his life in this area until moving to Stuart with his wife, Mary Ann, three years ago. Jack was an avid Giants fan and loved all sports. When his sons were younger and in high school he was actively involved in the CYO youth sports leagues, coaching the Sacred Heart, South Amboy, CYO basketball team for many years. He was a proud member of the Teamsters for nearly 50 years. Most importantly, he was a proud and loving grandfather to Jon, Em, and Meggie, who love and miss their 'Grandpa Jack'. Jack had a great and mischievious sense of humor for all of his large, extended family and for his many friends here in NJ and in Florida as well.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Ann; two sons, John, and his wife Denise, of Woodbridge, and Brian, and his wife Karen, of Milltown; their mother, Anne, of Old Bridge; and three grandchildren, Jonathan, Emilyn, and Meghan; his mother, Alice (O'Keefe) Curtis, of Sebastian, FL and Parlin; two sisters, Katherine Curtis of Parlin, and Kimberly Kielmanski and her husband, Chris, also of Parlin; three brothers, Robert and his wife Mary Lou of South Amboy, Kevin and his wife Nancy of Sewaren, and Billy and his wife Maryanne of Woodbridge; two aunts, Eleanor Shinnick of Sebastian, FL, and Marilyn Walsh and her husband Jack of Whiting; two sisters-in-law, Ellen and Janis, and a brother-in-law, Michael, and their families; and many wonderful and loving cousins, nieces, nephews, and grand-nieces. He was predeceased by his father, William, and his brother, Keith.
A memorial service was held in Stuart, FL on Friday, April 2, 2010. A memorial service in NJ is being planned for a future date and a second announcement will follow once these arrangements have been completed. In lieu of flowers, it is requested that memorial donations may be made to the Martin County Council on Aging (Stuart, FL) at www.coamc.org or to the American Cancer Society.

Hi Dad, have been thinking a lot about you lately. I know you're at peace, and I'm grateful for that. I feel sometimes you're checking up on us and i'm glad for that, too. I'm sure you're proud of Jonathon, I know I am. He's come so far and has grown into a fine young man. The girls are growing up fast, Emilyn is at the top of her class (one of the smartest) and Meghan just got her purple belt (she wants to be a black belt by 12). Keep making your presence known to us, its comforting. Love you, and miss you.

Thinking about you today, Jack. Thank you to Brian for keeping this open. Jack was my uncle and Godfather. He was a good man to have on your side. Some of my very fondest memories include him. I draw strength from them and I laugh. I always will. What better legacy to have? God bless.
