John Hachlica

AGE: 64 • Green Brook

John Hachlica, age 64, died on Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at his home in Green Brook. He was born in Germany and had lived in Green Brook for many years. Mr. Hachlica was a supervisor for the Somerset County Road Department for 11 years. He served in the U.S. Air Force as a crew chief during the Viet Nam War and later as a flight engineer in the Air Force. He enjoyed high performance cars like Corvettes and Mercedes.

He is survived by his mother, Julia Hryb Hachlica; his brother, Steven P. Hachlica and his sister, Maria Hachlica. He is also survived by his uncles, Bill and Steve; his aunt Stasia; his nephews, Christopher and Justin; his niece, Larysa and 6 cousins.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 21st from 6 - 8 pm. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd.,Watchung. A military service will be held during the visitation. Please contact the funeral home for the service time. Cremation is private. Memorial contributions may be made in his loving memory to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, P.O. I knew John from the Deutscher Club of Clark. He was a very interesting and kind person. He was always willing to share a joke or story. I will miss seeing him at Sunday morning services.
