I was John's secretary for many years at the Edison Juvenile Aid Bureau. He was more than a "boss", he was a great friend and it was my great pleasure to have worked with him. My sincere sympathy to the family and especially to Joann. Love to all.

Dad,
You can rest in peace now. We can hear you playing the piano in Heaven and playing all your practical jokes that you loved doing.Heaven will never be the same= LOL.
Thank you for always teaching Brenda and I to ALWAYS stand up for what's right even if it means standing alone. We have always lived our lives this way and we are better people because of it.
You will be sadly missed. Our memories are precious ones and they will be with us forever.
We thank everyone for all the condolences and the sharing of memories of our Dad.

Hermsen Family,
I will always have really fond memories of the fishing trips with John and my Dad Ronald ... we always had a good time even though we didn't catch many fish!

my deepest condolances for the entire hermsen family. i worked with john at the JAB, and he lived with me for a while. i will always remember him waking me by playing the acordion, dripping wet from the shower, and laughing that harty laugh he had. he enjoyed life and everyone around him were happier because of his contagious laugh and attitude. i was saddened to hear of his passing.

So sorry for your loss. We will always remember John as a great boss, good friend and great police officer. We still recall his retirement party at the "teapot inn", and will always have fond memories of him.
