JOHN ROBERT SCULLY
AGE: 49 FORMERLY OF SOUTH AMBOY
John Robert Scully, 49, of Homosassa, Fla., passed away Thursday, Aug. 27, 2009, at his home, with his family at his side. He had lived in South Amboy until moving to Florida 17 years ago.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Darlene of 25 years; two loving sons, John Robert Scully Jr. and his wife Antoinette of California, and Jesse James Scully of California; his beloved parents, Gerald and Judith Scully of Homosassa, Fla.; his sister, Janice Hughes and her husband Ben of Inverness, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Margaret Nowak and her husband John of South Amboy; a brother-in-law, Jimmy Miller of Piscataway; four nieces, Jacqueline Hughes, Sarah Hughes, April Miller, and Fallon Nowak; two nephews, Jimmy and Eric Miller.
A Funeral Mass will be offered Saturday, Aug. 29 at St. Thomas Church, Homosassa, followed by a private cremation.

to all those who knew and loved my beloved husband and best friend john. my heart is broken because our good lord in his infinite wisdom took him back home. john was a giving soul and i thank god for our 25 years together and his precious gifts to me john jr and jesse james. he will forever be in our hearts. i remember all the good times and there were so many! thank you all for being so kind....keep us in your prayers........darlene

We are sorry to learn of Johns passing.We have known John and Darlene for many years. John was a good friend and had a wonderful personality. You could talk to him about anything, and he had the gift to be a good conversationalist. To My Loving Sister Darlene, Our hearts are filled with sadness and our life a empty void. John was a beautiful person and the greatest brother in law and words can't describe the pain we feel inside. We all grew up together and had the greatest times and life will never be the same but our love for him will live forever in our lifes. Fallon says he was the greatest uncle and my husband says one of his best friends. May God keep watch over our family and friends to go forward and to live as John would want us to, and to my nephews John and Jesse you made him very proud.We love you all very much!!!!

John has been emancipated from his suffering and is now at peace. I will sorely miss my cousin but I am privilege to have great memories of John. I look forward to seeing him someday.

Sorry for your loss. Even though we never met, I feel that having worked with Ben for many years @ Hercule's, I felt like I knew that side of his family well.

John will be greatly missed. Ive had many a laugh and had very interesting discussions with John Sr. He was a proud father who spend many of his haircuts by me, telling of his sons accomplishments and goals. Never did he complain about his family..just how proud he was. I will miss our talks about cars, mechanics, motorcycles..and the general things i looked foward to when Him and his family frequented are Salon. I never thought id see the day when he would cut his long hair off...lol..but he wanted to do it for a special family occasion..and thats the kind of guy he was..That wasnt but a short time ago..and im glad i had the honor..and the laughs we had as he lost his signature style. Thanks for being a part of out lives. My condolences to Darlene and two guys that grew up before my eyes.
