JOHN W. SHAUGHNESSY, SR.
AGE: 85 MOUNT LAUREL
John W. Shaughnessy, Sr., age 85, of Mount Laurel, NJ formerly of Jersey City, NJ, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010.
John retired from The Western Electric Company, was a lifetime member of Pioneers of America, an associate member of the Willingboro FOP #38 and coordinated the neighborhood watch at the Renaissance Club Community for many years.
He was predeceased by his wife Elvira (Falco) in 1975 and second wife Joan (Volk) in 2006, as well as 13 brothers and sisters and step-children Daniel Volk and Susan Yurek. He is survived by two daughters, Nancy Fusco (husband Anthony), Deborah Watts, (husband Dale); and son, John, Jr. (wife Mary); three grandsons, Timothy (wife Diana), Edward (wife Karen) and John, III (fiancée Meghan), three great-granddaughters, Natalie Samantha and Alexis. John is also survived by his sister, Jeanie Ransom, his companion Jean Adams and step-father to Kevin Volk, Leslie Purwin and nine step-grandchildren.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 2 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00PM and again Wednesday, Feb. 3 from 9:00 to 10:00AM, all at the Mount Laurel Home for Funerals, 212 Ark Road, Mount Laurel. Funeral liturgy will be celebrated 10:30AM at Our Lady Queen of Peace, 1603 Marne Highway, Hainesport, NJ. Entombment will be in Madonna Cemetery, Fort Lee, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Deborah Hospital Foundation, New Jersey Region, P.O. Box 820, Browns Mills, NJ 08015 or Samaritan Hospice, 5 Eves Drive Suite 300, Marlton, NJ 08053.
