John Ward Obituary

John "Corky" Ward

New Brunswick - John "Corky" Ward, 68, passed away peacefully at his home with his loving family on January 31st, 2021. Corky fought bravely to the very end with strength beyond words after a long battle with cancer. Corky was born in Bayonne and lived in New Brunswick most of his life. He was a pipefitter/plumber by trade and was multi-talented. He was an artist, master carpenter, accomplished golfer, and an avid fisherman; there wasn't much that he couldn't do. But mostly, he was a wonderful father to his beloved daughter, Alecia. He will be sorely missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him. May he rest peacefully and once again be whole.

He was predeceased by his parents, Helen S. Ward and John Ward; his brothers-in-law, Ernest Scott, Kevin Jeffries, and Ron Bellafronte; his sister-in-law, Diane Kelly; his niece, Casie Kerr, and nephew, Bryan Jeffries. He is survived by his wife Charlene (Bellafronte) Ward and his daughter, Alecia Ward, his sisters, Colleen Ward and her partner, Nancy Conine, Helen Kerr and her husband, John, Sheila Sonntag, Donna Scott, and MaryAlice Jeffries; his brother Brian Ward and his wife, Mila; brothers-in-law, Alex Bellafronte and his wife, Patricia, Lou Bellafronte and his wife, Donna; 21 nieces and nephews; and 18 great-nieces and great-nephews.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated for Corky at 10:00 am Saturday, February 6, 2021 at St. Bartholomew R.C. Church, 470 Ryders Lane, East Brunswick, NJ 08816. Arrangements are under the direction of the Quackenboss Funeral Home, New Brunswick.

I did not know John much, almost not at all. I'm sure his friends and family can say countless amounts of great things about him. John has helped me out before in life and I cannot thank him enough for it. Rest in Peace Corky.

We lost a good man. My heartfelt condolences to his family. I remember John as a fighter who never let his cancer slow him down. I'm sorry we lost touch over the years, but I have fond memories of him, his wife and daughter. I'll keep you all in my prayers.
