Jonathan Ray Gonzalez, 24, formerly of Lakewood, died on April 19, 2012 in Orlando, FL. He was born in Lakewood and resided there most of his life before moving to Orlando 6 years ago. He was a self-employed tattoo artist in the Orlando area.
He is survived by his father, Ramon Gonzalez, his mother, Norma Berrios, his daughter, Janaiyah Sky, his girlfriend, and mother of his daughter, Stephanie Melendez, 2 sisters, Yasmin and Kalena, a maternal grandmother, Maria Deleon, maternal grandfather, Jose Berrios, a paternal grandmother, Ramona Gonzalez, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and other family members.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 7-9 PM and Wednesday from 9:30 AM until the funeral service at 10 AM at the Lakewood Funeral Home, 6250 Highway 9, Howell. Burial will follow at Ocean County Memorial Park, Silverton.

Even tho " J " & I did"nt get a chance to really get to know eachother , I knew that he was someone who I wanted to get to know. He had a kind of personality that draws people in. I dont want to be in a saddend state of mind & morn. I"d rather celebrate his life & be happy that I got a chance to be in it. God has gained another strong soidier. Babyboy, We spent everyday together from the day we met. We grew in a way that is unexplainable. My heart aches for you, and I can not describe the pain I am in. Our Babygirl was born premature on Easter SUNDAY and all I can picture is that glow and huge smile of yours, how happy you was to experience her birth! I have never seen you so HAPPY! My heart is so broken and I feel like it will never be mended! I look at Baby Janaiyah Sky and see so much of you in her, those big brown eyes stare at me and I feel like its you staring at me right through her!! They say time heals, but time is only making it harder for me. Please Guide us through this, HER and I PROMISE TO NEVER LET YOU DOWN! from here on out its HER & I (with your Presence) Lord knows how much I LOVE YOU!! and if i didn't have a reason to live for I'd be with you!

It is terrible to hear news like this and you were so young RIP Jay.
I remember the first time we met; you tatted Jen and me one night in your crib. That was a long night too. Then I came back to FL on vacation again and I brought 3 more New Yorkers to see you. Jonathan was an AMAZING artist and overall person. He tattooed me & many of the people I love dearly from my big brother, to my boyfriend, friends, and cousins. It was always an all day and all night task event to get work done by him but it was definitly worth it because the finished product would always come out flawless. Even though he is gone he will never be forgotten because his work will live with us forever.
