Joseph William Salerno

AGE: 70 • Formerly of Raritan

Joseph William Salerno, 70 of North Adams, MA and formerly of Raritan, died Sunday May 14, 2017 at Berkshire Medical Center. He was born in Raritan on February 10, 1947, son of Arminio Joseph and Angelina (DiMuro) Salerno. He graduated from Bridgewater-Raritan High School. Joseph was a Veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the US Navy. He was last employed by Pathmark Supermarket where he worked for twenty years until his retirement. Before that, he worked for the US Postal Service. He was a communicant of St. Ann's Church in Raritan, NJ and was a member of the American Legion. Joe loved playing with his dogs. He was an avid fan of the New York Yankees baseball team and the New York Giants football team. Survivors include his wife, Suzanne (Sinclitico) Salerno, whom he married on June 6, 2009 and one son, Kevin Salerno and his significant other, Jessica DeLorenzo of Flemington. He also leaves two stepchildren- Jenna Melanson of North Adams, MA and Chad Melanson and his wife, Gift of Norwell, MA; one step granddaughter- Brianna; one brother, Mark Salerno of Somerville, his mother in- law- Connie Sinclitico of North Adams and nephews,Matthew Salerno and family and Christopher Salerno His brother Peter Salerno is deceased.Visiting hours will begin at 2pm on Saturday,June 3 and conclude with Military Honors at 4pm at the Cusick Funeral Home, 80 Mountain Ave., Somerville Burial will be private.
