Katherine Dunham Obituary
AGE: 62 • Sewaren
Katherine Dunham, 62, of the Sewaren section of Woodbridge, passed away on Sunday, July 27th at Beth Israel Medical Center in Newark.
Born in Perth Amboy, Katherine was a long time resident of Sewaren. She was employed by HoRo Trucking in Port Reading before retiring. Katherine graduated from Woodbridge High School in 1970 and dedicated her life to her family, especially her grandchildren.
Katherine was predeceased by her father, Angelo Ombres. Surviving are her husband of 43 years, Richard A. Dunham, her mother, Katherine Ombres, two children, Angela Monteiro and her husband Pedro and Richard M. Dunham along with his fiancé, Allyson Fields. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Antonio, Giovanni, Christian, Hailey and Nicco along with two siblings, Lois Nime and Joseph Ombres.
Funeral services will begin at 9:00am on Friday, August 1st from the GERITY & CHUBENKO FUNERAL HOME, 411 Amboy Avenue, Woodbridge followed by a 9:30am Mass of Resurrection at St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church, Port Reading. Private cremation will follow.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 31st from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm at the funeral home.
At the request of the family, donation in Katherine's memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 1160 U.S. Highway 22 Suite #103, Bridgewater, NJ 08807.

I was saddened to hear of Kathy's passing. Kathy and I were schoolmates in elementary school till we graduated WHS in 1970. I remember her giving me a birthstone ring in School #11 as we shared May birthdays. May the fond memories of her sustain you through this difficult time. I spent so much time as a child in her home and she treated me like another daughter. We are so saddened about the passing of our good friend and best neighbor. Kathy was always there for us, helping us and just being a really good and funny friend. We will always cherish the memories of our days on Old Road, and Kathy was such a big part of them. We raised our children together and had lots of fun doing so. Love you Kathy..til we meet again!
