Margaret M. Coughlin, "Peggy", 80, of Hazlet, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at her home on Friday evening, May 29, 2015. She was born Margaret M. Brennan on October 29, 1934 in Bayonne, where she grew up. On September 19, 1953, she and her husband, Michael, were married and began their life together. In 1958, they settled in Hazlet to raise her family. While living in Hazlet, Peggy was the recipient of the Humanitarian Award in 1990. She also was a Little League Coach for the HYAL and was an avid fan of the NY Mets and NY Jets.

She was predeceased by her parents, John and Margaret (Boyle) Brennan, her son, Daniel Coughlin, her sister, Betty Brennan and her son-in-law, Lawrence Bonner. Peggy is survived by her beloved and devoted husband of 61 years, Michael Francis Coughlin, her loving children, Sue Coughlin-Van Dunk and her husband Donald of Cameron, NC, Michele Bonner of Middletown, Paul Coughlin and his wife Eileen of Hazlet, and Lisa Balletta and her husband Martin of Aberdeen, and her dear brother, John Brennan and his wife Lois. Peggy is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Linda Richardson, Michael Coughlin, Robert Bonner, Nikki Coughlin, Sean Bonner, Paul Coughlin, Erin Coughlin, Mia Balletta and Kayla Balletta, along with her adored great grandchildren, Kenneth Foster, Michael Richardson, June Coughlin, and Amani Marie Coughlin and many special nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. She will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Monday, June 1st from 4 to 8 PM and Tuesday, June 2nd from 8:15 to 9AM at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 3269 State Rt. 35 N, Hazlet. Mass of Christian Burial, Tuesday, June 2nd , 9:30 AM, Holy Family R.C. Church, Union Beach. Entombment, Holmdel Cemetery Mausoleum, Holmdel.
