AGE: 72 • Edison

Margaret "Margo" Theresa Cummings Wenzel, 72, of Edison, passed away on February 11, 2015, at Leisure Park in Lakewood. Born and raised in Elizabeth, she has spent the last 5 years living in Lakewood. Before her move to Lakewood, she resided in Edison for 22 years and Union for 10 years. Margo received her Master's Degree in social work and was employed by Manahawkin Convalescent Center as a Social Worker and with Parker House in Piscataway and New Brunswick before her retirement 10 years ago. She was a former communicant of St. Francis Cathedral in Metuchen and was involved with their Bereavement group. Margo did volunteer work with the Girl Scouts of America, served as "Class Mom," paid friendly visits to the community elderly and delivered Meals on Wheels. She loved taking pictures, traveling, and most of all, spending time with her friends and family.

Margaret was predeceased by her husband, Bernard "Bernie" Wenzel in 1995; and two siblings, Casey and Richard Cummings. She is survived by her children: Michele Wenzel, Karen Wenzel Fierst and her husband Michael, and Bernard "Bernie" Wenzel; six grandchildren: Katie, Emily, Mike, Juliana, Jacqueline, and Jenna; and two sisters, Rita Fortin and Mary Gladysz.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 13, 2015, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Flynn and son/Koyen Funeral Home, 319 Amboy Avenue, Metuchen, NJ 08840. Funeral services will be on Saturday at 9:45 am at the funeral home followed by a 10:15 am Funeral Liturgy at St. Francis Cathedral, Metuchen. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery in Scotch Plains. Donations may be made in Margo's memory to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research at www.michaeljfox.org.
