Mary Murphy Obituary
Parlin - Mary A. Murphy, age 87, of the Parlin section of Sayreville passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, May 30, 2018. Born in Jersey City, she has resided in Parlin for the past 24 years. Before her retirement, Mrs. Murphy was employed as an Office Manager with Esso Seamens Union in Bayonne as well as a secretary with both Ford Motor Co. in Newark and Empire Trust Co. in New York. In her spare time Mary was an avid reader as well as a devout communicant of St. Bernadette's RC Church.
Mary is predeceased by her beloved husband Francis Murphy, Sr. and her dear son Francis Murphy, Jr. Surviving is her son Michael and husband Bill of River Edge, her daughter Kathleen & husband James Melando of Colonia; many dear friends including Juan Carlos Torres of River Edge; as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday, 9am from the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home followed by a 9:30am mass at St. Bernadette's RC Church in Parlin. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington.
Calling hours at the funeral home will take place Sunday from 1pm to 5pm.
