Matthew P. DiMeglio

AGE: 86 • Parlin

Matthew P. DiMeglio died Sunday, October 12, 2014 at home, surrounded by his family. He was 86. Born in Manhattan, NY, he grew up in Hell's Kitchen before moving to the Parlin section of Old Bridge 42 years ago. Prior to his retirement in 1992, he was a carpenter for the Wire lathers Union in NY for 40 years. After retiring, he worked as a carpenter/maintenance worker for the Old Bridge Board of Education, and then a maintenance worker for Tutor Time in Old Bridge before retiring in 2000. He was a proud Army Veteran of the Korean War, and a communicant of St. Bernadette RC Church, Parlin. He lived for his wife, kids and grandkids.

Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Eileen Schultz DiMeglio; three sons, Steven and his wife Stacey DiMeglio of Monroe Township, Matthew and his wife Stacey DiMeglio of Jackson, and Joseph and his wife Mary Schultz of Melbourne, FL; a daughter Lisa and her husband John Domino of Old Bridge; a brother, Jerry DiMeglio of Ridgefield Park; a sister, Connie Fruscella of Long Island, NY; ten grandchildren, Courteney, Kaitlin, Alexandra, Nicholas, JD, Stefani, Joseph, Samantha, Brandon and Matthew; and two loving nieces, Lauren and Erica.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 8:30 AM in the Rezem Funeral Home, 457 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick, followed by a 9:30 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Bernadette Church, Parlin. Interment with military honors will follow at the NJ Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday 5-9 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 331 Newman Springs Road, Suite 143, Red Bank, NJ 07701.
