Michael Maldony Obituary
AGE: 83 • Edison
Michael A. Maldony, Sr. passed away surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, November 15, 2017, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. He was born and resided in Perth Amboy before moving to Edison in 1970. He received his BS degree in Pharmacy from Fordham University in 1956. After graduating he proudly served our country in the Army. He was a pharmacist for Seaman's Pharmacy in Perth Amboy for 50 years retiring in 1999. After retiring he worked for Madura Pharmacy in South Amboy for 6 years and Wernik's in Metuchen.
Michael was a former member of San Salvador Council of the Knights of Columbus and a past member of the United Nation Philatelic Society. He wrote a weekly Stamp Column for the Perth Amboy Evening News for 10 years. He was a founding member of the parish a Eucharistic minister, reader, past trustee, past president of the HSA and a CCD teacher. He also was a member of the Holy Name Society and School Advisory Council of St Helena RC Church in Edison.
Michael was predeceased by his parents Stephen and Rose Maldony and his brother Stephen Maldony. Surviving are his wife of 49 years Joan Marie (Duffy) Maldony, his children Maura Schuck and her husband Thomas, Michael Maldony, Jr. and his wife Michele and his grandchildren Kiely Schuck, Clare Maldony and his sister Rosemary Shepherd.
Visitation will be Sunday, November 19, 2017 from 2:00PM to 4:00PM and 7:00PM to 9:00PM at the Gosselin Funeral Home, 660 New Dover Road Edison. Funeral service will be held on Monday, November 20, 2017 at 9:00AM at the funeral home, followed by a 10:00AM Mass at St Helena Church, Edison. Cremation Private.
