Michael Moore Obituary

Michael Patrick Moore

AGE: 58 • Toms River

Michael Patrick Moore, 58, went to be with the Lord on Monday, Oct. 24, 2011, after a 14 month battle with cancer. Born in Newark to John F. and Joan Moore, the family lived in East Orange and belonged to Holy Name Parish before relocating to Monmouth County in 1967. He graduated from Manasquan High School, where he played on the championship basketball team of 1971. An avid golfer and sports fan, he took great pleasure in debating sports strategy. A passionate reader, he was a regular visitor to the Wall Township Library. He was treasured by all the members of his family, and was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend. Michael was employed for most of his life in management and sales, working in the building supply and lumber industry. A diligent sales representative, he spent much of his time visiting customers all over the Northeast in recent years.

He was preceded in death by his father, and is survived by his mother, Joan, and his step-father Alan Faerber; his sister, Patricia and brother-in-law, Michael Greer; brother-in-law, J. Leonard Langan and wife Eileen Langan; his step-sister, Alyson and husband Tom Szumloz' step-brother, Kevin and wife Linda Faerber; his nephews and nieces, Timothy and wife Sara Langan, Patrick and John Langan, Zach, Hannah and Abbey Szumloz, Alan and Matthew Faerber; and many cousins and relatives.

The visitation hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28, 2011 at the Timothy E. Ryan Funeral Home, 995 Fischer Blvd., Toms River. Mass will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011 at St. Justin the Martyr Church in Toms River. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Toms River. He was more like a brother to me than a cousin. He was great human being, always ready to help others and will be truly missed. Words do not do him justice - I lost a brother and I will always have a place in my heart for him.
