I will always remember Michael, simply an amazingly talented and hard working person .... and only 23 years young. Having been his accountant for almost 5 years I had the benefit of seeing him grow and mature as a person, as a businessman and as a real friend. I will miss him dearly but my comfort is that heaven will have the most beautiful lawn and never have to worry about pruning the shrubs or spreading the mulch.
Rest in peace my friend, I miss you already and it is barely a week.

While descending Fountain Grove road last winter, during a rainstorm, we encountered black ice on the road and needed to ditch our SUV into a snow embankment in order to avoid t-boning a spinning car ahead of us. Cars passed us and there was no offer to help us...it was so bad I couldn't even stand without falling, and we did not have any shovels. Along came Mike and he pulled out his shovels without even asking him and began digging us out. After over an hour, he pulled our SUV out with his truck. He didn't ask for and refused any form of payment.. but I did "force" him to take a small amount of money; I asked for his business card so in the future we could hire him for some landscaping work. He was the type of person we would want to do business with.

You should be very proud of him and yourselves for the way you raised this fine young man with such fine character traits. Our prayers are with the Zelkovsky family and Mike.

I watched you play on the soccer fields with Alex as a little guy, and as the years passed, I watched from a distance as you grew into a confident, caring young man. You were always a "kid with a vision." Many of us dream about creating and running our own business, but you had the drive and determination to bring that dream to fruition. You ran your business with honesty, professionalism, and most of you conveyed a true concern and care for every job you under took. You accomplished much in your young life. You and your family have much to proud of in meeting so many of your goals so early in your life. You died too soon, but you will live on in the hearts and minds of all who loved you. I will miss my "lawn boy!" God Bless you and keep you in HIS loving care.

We were stunned and saddened to hear of Mike's sudden passing. Such a profound and tragic loss. Over the years, Mike exemplified the values and spirit of 4H. As many have said, he always had a smile and a willingness to help out. I can't imagine the grief that you're feeling and my heartfelt sympathies are with the Zelkovsky family. The world has lost a great guy.

I will miss Mike terribly, both professionally and personally. Professionally, he was an excellent craftsman. He has worked for me for the past few years and did an excellent job; in many different areas, not only landscaping. Personally, he had many conversations with me, which I enjoyed. He was a hard worker, always honest and fair, and took pride in the quality of his work and accomplishments. He was also a caring employer to all the men who worked for him. All the work he did for us was impressive. He had cultivated many skills and presented artistic and creative landscaping ideas, and fabricated needed parts. What a terrible loss for the Flemington community. Our hearts and hopes go out to his family.

To say that Mike touched our lives is an understatement. We respected and admired him and appreciate all that he gave of himself to help others. We will miss his smile dearly.
