Nancy Dwyer

AGE: 55 • Neshanic Station

Nancy (Hutnik) Dwyer, 55, entered into eternal life on Sunday, April 20, 2014 at her home in Neshanic Station with loving family and friends by her side. Raised in Guttenberg, New Jersey, daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Smith) Hutnik, she lived in San Francisco, California in 1990 before settling to Neshanic Station in 1991where she built a beautiful home full of love and laughter. Nancy was a graduate of the Holy Name Hospital School of Nursing in Teaneck, New Jersey. Nancy's giving nature and incredible spirit inspired her involvement in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer, where she started Team Agapi and participated in the Avon Walk for Breast cancer for fourteen years. Nancy was also a member of the gathered to Give Foundation and aided in fund raising for breast cancer research and treatment. Nancy was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church in Three Bridges, New Jersey. Nancy was also active on the Farmland Committee in Branchburg, New Jersey.

Besides her parents, Nancy was predeceased by her paternal grandmother, Helen Hutnik. She had a love of horses, gardening and sharing her home but her deepest passion was for her children.

Nancy is survived by her loving husband of twenty-four years, James W. Dwyer, with whom she joined hands in marriage on January 26, 1990. She will be deeply missed by three cherished children, James Ryan Dwyer, Caitlin Elizabeth Dwyer, and Sara Jeanine Dwyer all of Neshanic Station; her dear sister, Joanne and her husband Peter Ondik of Hillsborough; her Goddaughter, Rachel; dear mother-in-law, Jeanine Dwyer; devoted Aunt Maryann and Uncle Joe Cromie and dear sisters-in-law, Jeanine Mebane-Dwyer, Dara and her husband James Harkay, Suzette and her husband Steve Palahnuk, and Shannon and her husband Patrick Richards. Nancy was a trusted and caring friend to so many.

On the 10 year anniversary of Nancy´s passing I just wanted to write so her children could know, what I´m sure they already do, that their mom was an extraordinary person. I met Nancy my senior year in high school working at Holy Name Hospital and she was a nursing student. I liked her immediately. Very rare you meet a person like Nancy. Nothing put on. Just a genuinely nice caring person and fun to be around. Not surprising she chose nursing as a career. Its been a few years but I look back with only great memories of that summer before I left for college. Had alot of fun with Nancy and her nursing student friends Maureen Mary Jo Ellen and Linda but I never forgot Nancy and the incredible person she was. God took her way too early but I´m sure he´s enjoying her company like I did.
