AGE: 73 • Somerset
Nicholas Balog, 73, died Friday, July 14, 2017 at St. Peter University Medical Center in New Brunswick, New Jersey.
Mr. Balog was born March 07, 1944 in Englishtown, New Jersey to the late Steven and Elizabeth (Yuhas) Balog. He served our country faithfully in the United States Army.
Nick was a foreman for Procedyne Corp. in New Brunswick until his retirement in 2007. He was a member of the Somerset Senior Club and the American Legion in Metuchen. Mr. Balog was an avid gardener and loved Corvettes. He also enjoyed visiting Atlantic City.
Mr. Balog was preceded in death by his brother, Stephen Balog.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Adoracion Balog of Somerset; his brother, Daniel and his wife Barbara Balog and his niece, Traci Balog.
Visitation will be held at Gleason Funeral Home, 1360 Hamilton Street, Somerset, NJ 08873 on Tuesday, July 18th from 5-7 PM.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at 11 AM at St. Mary of Mount Virgin Church in New Brunwsick. Entombment will follow at St. Peter Cemetery in New Brunswick.

Just heard of Nicks' passing away. Nick was not only an excellent foreman he was most of all an excellent, caring, helpful, compassionate and true friend. I will sorely miss him. My prayers will always include him.

Nick was a truly thoughtful, compassionate neighbor; through the years he cut my front side strp of the lawn, shared his garden vegetables , was kind to my cat who always climbed over the fence to his side, put up with my noisy kids and countless basketballs on his yard, turned a blind eye to the mess on my yard, always gave a nice, warm greeting whenever he saw you. His kindness will always be remembered, I'll miss you, Nick!

Nick Balog was an honest, hard working, loyal, strong and proud man. Unfortunately, he was ill for several years but he fought his illness with such strength and dignity. He will be missed. - Rachel Placitella
