NICHOLAS R. LOMBARDO
AGE: 70 BAYVILLE
Nicholas R. Lombardo, 70, died Tuesday, May 4, 2010, at Community Medical Center, Toms River. He was born in New Brunswick. He lived in Milltown before moving to Bayville 13 years go. Nicholas served in the U.S. Navy. He was a firefighter in New Brunswick. He was a member of the American Legion, Milltown, and was also a member of the Firemen's Mutual Benevolent Association. He was parishioner of St. Barnabas Roman Catholic Church, Bayville.
Surviving are his loving wife, Virginia (nee Clark) of 52 years; one son, Nicholas R. Lombardo Jr. and his wife Holly of Lakewood; two daughters, Pamela and her husband Frank Fiumecaldo of South River, and Lisa and her husband Geoffrey Greene of Blairstown; one brother, Samuel R. Lombardo and his wife Joan of Waynesboro, Pa.; two nephews, Christopher Lombardo and Captain David Lombardo; and seven grandchildren, Frank, Daniel, Kristen, Ryan, Matthew, Dana and Geoffrey.
The family will receive relatives and friends for a memorial gathering from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 6, with a 6:30 p.m. service at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, O'Connell Chapel, 706 Highway 9, Bayville. Following the memorial service, there will be a small gathering at the Lombardo residence. It has been a long time since the Marion Ball and our last time together before you and Ginny went off to start a new life. Although it has been many years and miles between, you have been in our thoughts and now will always be in our prayers.
Ginny, we recently received a picture from Barbara Garrigan taken in 1954 at Gail Dodge's Halloween party of Paulie Rich, me, Neil (all of us as sailors) and other St. Peter's kids. I would like to send you a copy if you want it send me an email to [email protected].
