AGE: 85 • Myrtle Beach, South Carolina
Patricia J. McCriskin, 85, died on Thursday, May 29, 2014 in Brightwater Assisted Living in Myrtle Beach, SC. Born in New Brunswick, Mrs. McCriskin had resided in Newark and South Plainfield for many years before moving to Bayville in 1993. In 2011 she relocated to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Patricia had been employed as a Secretary for AT&T in Pluckemin for 13 years prior to her retirement. She had initially began working with NJ Bell as a long distance operator and then Bell Labs as a watts operator and administrative assistant. She was also instrumental to her sons, Bill and Rich in the office of the McCriskin Home for Funerals. She was currently a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea R.C. Church, North Myrtle Beach , SC., a former member of St. Barnabas RC Church in Bayville and a long time member of Sacred Heart RC Church in South Plainfield. Addiitonally, Pat was a past member of the South Plainfield Veterans Forgein Wars Memorial Post #6763 Women's Auxiliary.
Pat is predeceased by her husband William R. McCriskin who died in 2005, her daughter -in-law Kathleen McCriskin who died in 2000 and her sisters, Mary Rooney and Florence Roehringer. Surviving are a daughter; MaryEllen McCriskin of Lakehurst, three sons; Richard W. McCriskin and his wife Dee of South Plainfield, Dr. James McCriskin and his wife Nancy of Bloomington, Ill and William C. McCriskin and his wife Patricia of North Myrtle Beach, SC. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 beginning at 9AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ 07080, followed by a funeral mass in Sacred Heart RC Church, South Plainfield, NJ at 10AM. Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains. Family and friends may attend the visitation on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 from 5-8PM in the funeral home.
