PETER ANTHONY
ST.ONGE
AGE: 22 RUMSON
Peter Anthony St.Onge, 22, of Rumson, died Saturday, Aug. 8, 2009. Peter was a gifted artist and started drawing by the age of two. He was a highly celebrated talent, receiving various awards for his artistic abilities throughout his educational career. In the spring of 2009, he graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from RISD, The Rhode Island School of Design, majoring in Printmaking. His senior project was titled "Baby's Breath", featuring over 500 hand-drawn pictures animated into a short film. Peter was awarded the John A. Chironna Scholarship his senior year on the basis of overall academic excellence and creative contribution to the Printmaking Department. Peter was a kind hearted person with a delightful personality.
He will be greatly missed by all, including his sister, Graciela, 10; his brother, Nicholas, 20; his mother, Graciela (Chela) and his father, George. Peter's extended family includes 19 cousins, aunts and uncles, Joe and Kitty St.Onge, Monica St.Onge, Townsend and Maureen Lathrop, Margaret St.Onge, Dr. Joan St.Onge and Dr. John Miller, Paul and Stephanie St.Onge, Alexandra Smith, Thomas and Isabelle Smith, Andrew and Josafina Weatherwax. Peter was recently pre-deceased by his grandmother and kindred spirit, Graziella V. Smith. His grandfather, Thomas G. Smith, a Rumson architect and his grandmother, Patricia Ann St.Onge also predeceased him. His grandfather, George H. St.Onge lives in Bernardsville.
Peter's organs were donated to others at Bellevue Hospital in Manhattan, with the hope that the recipients might continue to live.
A memorial gathering will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 12 at the Thompson Memorial Home, 310 Broad St., Red Bank. A memorial mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 13 at Holy Cross R.C. Church, 30 Ward Ave., Rumson. Donations will be accepted for The Peter St.Onge Scholarship for the Arts, Rumson Fair Haven Bank & Trust, 20 Bingham Ave., Rumson, NJ 07760, Attn: Alexandra Smith, Manager. Peter's art will be on display at PeterStOnge.com. Friends are currently invited to write comments at the site.

I get back-copies of the TRT and just saw Peter's picture. I gasped upon seeing his handsome face! I remember most fondly seeing him and Christoper when they were little guys and they were so polite and well-mannered and thoroughly pleasant -- a tribute to their parents. What a talent Peter turned out to be.
