Raymond Hermstedt Obituary
Manalapan - RAYMOND CHARLES HERMSTEDT, SR. passed away on Friday, August 13, 2021, at his residence in Manalapan. He was 77.
Born in Green Brook Township, he resided there, in Somerset, South River, and Monroe Township, before settling down in Manalapan 22 years ago.
A skilled machinist and mechanic set-up man, he worked for Teledyne Turner Tube and Gary Screw Machine before retiring in 2015 from Comtron Inc, Englishtown, where he worked for 14 years.
Raymond was predeceased by his parents, Mary and William Hermstedt and three brothers, Henry Hermstedt, Teddy VanAulen and William "Bill" Hermstedt.
He enjoyed watching NASCAR, going to Atlantic City, the auction, working on his cars and fishing.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Carol (Brodzinski) Hermstedt; his two daughters, Sandra Crawford and her husband, Richie, of South Brunswick, and Laura Furch and her husband, Bill, also of South Brunswick; his two sons, Raymond Hermstedt, Jr., and his wife, Kim, of Spotswood, and Michael Hermstedt, also of Spotswood; his sister, Mary Louise Schaffer of Lake City, FL; his two sisters-in-law, Anita Hermstedt and Elizabeth Potochar; eight grandchildren, Heather Santiago, Richard Crawford, Raymond Hermstedt, Shaun Hermstedt, Courtney Furch, Savannah Hermstedt, Paige Furch and Kendall Hermstedt; two great-grandchildren, Bailey Crawford and Colton Santiago and by many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may visit on Thursday, August 19, 2021, from 4:00 to 8:00pm, at The BRUNSWICK MEMORIAL HOME, 454 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick, where a service will be held at 6:00 pm. Cremation will be private. For directions to the funeral home please visit www.BrunswickMemorialHome.com.
