Richard Devaney Obituary
AGE: 55 • Hazlet
Richard Patrick Devaney Jr., 55, of Hazlet, passed away suddenly on Friday, June 13, 2014, at his home. Richard was born on July 6, 1958 in Brooklyn, NY, where he grew up and in 1970 moved to Hazlet with his family. He was predeceased by his father, Richard Patrick Devaney Sr. Richard is survived by his loving mother, Catherine (Clinton) Devaney; his dear sisters and brother, Carol Rechten and her husband Keith of Hazlet, John Devaney of Hazlet, and Cathy Egan and her husband Robert of Hazlet, along with 5 cherished nieces and nephews and 4 adored great-nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed, but never forgotten. Family and friends are invited to visit from 2 to 4 p.m. & 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, June 18 at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 3269 State Rt. 35 N, Hazlet. Prayer service at the funeral home during visiting hours. The Devaney family will be having a repast celebration in Richard's memory, between 4 & 7 p.m. at Assaggini Di Roma Restaurant in the Chelsea Place Shopping Center next to the funeral home. All who would like to attend are gladly invited to do so. In respect of Richard's wishes, he will be privately cremated. My Deepest condolences to the Devaney family. It has been many years since I had seen Richie but I often thought of him. I have the fondest memories of him and many special times that will live in my heart forever. Rest in peace my friend.
