Richard Snyder Obituary
AGE: 89 • formerly of Beach Haven Terrace
Dr. Richard Snyder, 89, formerly of Beach Haven Terrace, NJ, passed away on Friday, March 1, 2013.
Predeceased by his wife, Billie, he is survived by three children, Stuart Snyder (Kitty) of Beach Haven, Dr. Robert Snyder (Lauren) of Surf City, and Beverly Teti (Mark) of Newtown Square, PA; two siblings; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Dr. Snyder graduated from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1943 and attended the University of Pennsylvania to pursue a career in medicine, but was called to serve in the Navy during WWII. He was the first resident optometrist on Long Beach Island. In 1979, his son and daughter-in-law, Drs. Robert and Lauren Snyder, joined his practice and established Snyder Eye Group in Ship Bottom and Tuckerton. He previously served as president of the Stafford Lions Club and the Jewish Community Center of LBI.
Dr. Snyder was at the forefront of his profession, always looking to deliver the highest quality care by utilizing the latest technology and is remembered as being kind, gentle, and loved by his patients. He moved to Florida in 1988 and became an avid golfer.
Donations in his memory can be made to the JCC of LBI or Alliance for the Living Ocean/Sandy Run.

I would like to extend my sympathy to the Snyder Family on the passing of Dr. Richard Snyder. He was my first eye doctor when I moved to Tuckerton. I will always remember the great care he gave me. God Bless you all.
