Robert Berneck Obituary

Robert Anthony Berneck Jr

- - Robert Anthony Berneck Jr. passed away in Florida on January 31, 2019, after a courageous battle with esophageal cancer. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife, Lisa Hunt; his brother, John Berneck and his wife Tricia; his sister, Kerrianne Berneck; his sister-in-law, Kathy Seiple and her husband, Rex; his mother, Linda Berneck; and his nephews, Evan Lobato, Benjamin Seiple, Nick Seiple and Ryan Berneck. He was predeceased by his father, Robert, in December 2006.

Born on August 27, 1967 in Jersey City, New Jersey, Bob was graduated from the New Jersey Institute of Technology with a bachelor's degree in computer science. He also earned an MBA from Rutgers University. He was associate director of information technology (IT) for Novartis Pharmaceutical.

Bob loved his family, friends and the ocean, whether he was in it or on it. He spent his summers at the Jersey Shore, and nothing made him smile more than a boat ride on a summer day. He also loved his work and the challenges and rewards it provided, spending 12 years at Novartis, working with some amazing people and traveling the world. Most of all, he loved his family and making people laugh.

A celebration of life will held in the spring in New Jersey; details will be announced.

The family has announced that donations may be made in Bob's memory to the Imerman Angels cancer support community, https://imermanangels.org, as well as the Monmouth county spca monmouthcountyspca.org.

I can´t believe it´s been 5 years already. Not a summer day, a glimpse of the River or ocean goes by without me thinking of Bobby. He will always be Bobby to me as that´s what we called him as a kid growing up together on the Jersey shore. So many wonderful memories we made together with our other friends and family.
Lisa I pray for you often and know that you two shared an amazing love that is truly eternal.

Deep condolences.. Bob miss you.. I worked with Bob very closely in building the SIM organization in Novartis for North America and he was instrumental in achieving and stabilizing the model for NA. After I left Novartis I met Bob for lunch and at that time i could see a glimpse of happiness when he mentioned that its gone but with a skeptic look that he still need to wait!! Bob is great friend of mine although i was reporting to him(Client). I definitely miss him. Hope Lisa gets all the courage in the world in his absence..

Thank and miss you Bob,

I was Bob's co-worker at Novartis during 2007. After leaving Novartis in 2008 I was still keeping contact with Bob thru email until last May 2018. I was also praying for Bob several times to Buddha at home and at Stand Hope Buddhist temple. Last email was sent to Bob to wish him a happy Vietnamese New Year 2019 on 1/31/19 but I never get a reply from Bob without knowing Bob had passed away on the same day. Bob was one of the nicest people I ever met and this was the reason I considered him as a dear friend/former colleague after Novartis time . During his treatment time in FL, Bob was always positive and upbeat in every email he sent me (I still have all Bob's email). Now Bob is with God and relieve from all the suffering.

Please accept my deepest condolences to you and your family.

So very sorry to hear this sad news. I worked both with and for Bob at Novartis. What a great guy. He was someone for whom I had a lot of respect. Even under intense pressure, he always found a way to make you laugh. I know he will be greatly missed by friends and family. My deepest sympathies to those that loved him.
