ROBERT F. GREENE
AGE: 77 SOUTH AMBOY
Robert F. Greene, 77, of South Amboy, died Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010, at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy. Born in Elizabeth, he lived in Morgan before moving to South Amboy 30 years ago. Before retiring in 2006, he was employed as a custodian for the South Amboy Board of Education for 25 years, He previously worked for Superior Fence Co., Morgan. Bob served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the NJEA and the Middlesex County Retired Educators Assn. and also enjoyed fishing and boating.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Diane Donnelly in 1998, a nephew, Paul and a niece, Eileen. He is survived by his wife, Jean Jahnke Greene; 2 daughters and sons in law, Marlene and Ed Connors of Manalapan and Christine and Anthony Vella of South Amboy; a sister, Catherine Licinski of Morgan; 6 grandchildren, Steven, Keith, Matthew, Amanda, Anthony and Angelina; 2 nephews, Robert and Steven, a niece, Catherine, 3 great nieces and a great nephew.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2010, at 9:30am from The Gundrum Service "Home For Funerals" 237 Bordentown Ave., South Amboy followed by a 10am service at the First Presbyterian Church, South Amboy. Interment will follow at St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia. Visitation will be on Monday from 2pm-4pm and 7pm-9pm.

Dear Mrs. Greene & Family,
I want to extend my sincere condolences on hearing of Bob's passing. I was a teacher at So. Amboy Elem. School for many years. Bob was always so friendly, and helpful. He spoke so lovingly of you & the family. I trust the memories you have of your life together will help you all through this difficult time. May God bless & keep each of you in His care.
