Shirley Berkowitz Obituary
AGE: 95 • Highland Park
July 27,1920 to October 24,2015. A long time resident of Highland Park, Shirley passed away peacefully at age 95. She was born and raised in Brooklyn, and joined the Womens' Air Corps during World War II, where she met and married the love of her life, Sidney Berkowitz. Shirley was a librarian at the Highland Park Library for many years, and was an avid reader her whole life. An amateur artist, a collector of postcards and memorabilia, Shirley leaves her children, Lynn Moscrip of San Francisco and Jerry Berkowitz of Highland Park, her grandchildren, Leigh Alexander, Lara Moscrip, Rachel Stewart, and her great granddaughter, Noe Alexander.
