Sigmund L. Kulessa, Sr.

AGE: 93 • East Brunswick

Sigmund L. Kulessa, Sr. died Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2011 at home. He was 93. He was born in East Brunswick, where he remained a lifelong resident. Prior to retiring in 1981, he was a supervisor for Hercules Powder Company, Parlin, where he worked for 44 years. An Army veteran of WWII, Mr. Kulessa served from 1943-1946. He was awarded 2 Bronze Stars and a Silver Star, and was a past member of the VFW Post #9468, Old Bridge Township. He was a communicant of St. Bartholomew RC Church, East Brunswick.

Mr. Kulessa was predeceased by his brother, Chester Kulessa; 3 sisters: Helen Chrzan, Sylvia Kulesa, Anna Zimbicki, and his grandson, Truman. Surviving are his wife of 70 years, Jolan Haydu Kulessa; 2 sons, Dr. Sigmund Kulessa and his wife Diane of Millstone Township, and Wayne Kulessa and his wife Mary of Bordentown; a sister, Jean Rizk of North Brunswick; six grandchildren: Dr. Renata Kulessa-Dussias and her husband Peter, Dr. Sigmund Kulessa III, Gregory, Estelle, Amaya and Clayton Kulessa; and a great granddaughter, Isabella Dussias.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, 8:15 AM in The Brunswick Memorial Home, 454 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick, followed by a 9:00AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Bartholomew RC Church, East Brunswick. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, 2-4 & 7-9 PM. For directions, please visit www.brunswickmemorial.com
